Accessories for the beach!

Sunning yourself on the beach always seems glamorous and sexy, but when you really think about it it’s far from the idyllic scene we imagine.
Sweaty skin, running make-up, flat hair and sand in places that God never intended to see the light of day are all usual occurrences when on holiday.
So what can we do to add a bit of style to a day at the beach?
There are so many different ways in which to spice up your swimwear. Plus we have some clever solutions to make you feel more confident.
The first beachwear essential is a sarong. Versatile and relatively cheap this must have accessory will serve you well all summer. With so many different styles and lengths sarongs are the perfect item for the plus-size lady.
This long sarong available at Paradise Beachwear is a perfect example of how covering up can be just as sexy as revealing all!
If a sarong is still a bit daunting why not opt for a kaftan. Very fashionable with celebs around the globe, kaftans can elegantly emphasise a curvaceous figure, as long as you get the shape right. Larger frames should avoid shapeless kaftans, you might feel like they are a better fit, but in actual fact they will just make you look bigger. Hunt around for a kaftan with a tie under the bust around to the back or front. This will nip you in and create a curvier shape.
We love this funky kaftan from Evans! The bright colours and modern print adds guaranteed style!
Red puffy eyes are never a good look, but the sea breeze and harsh sunlight can leave you looking like you’ve been partying all week long. A good pair of sunglasses are a crucial accessory for the beach to protect those peepers. Though if you’re anything like most of the women I know you’ll go through more pairs of sunglasses this summer than Posh Spice! For some unknown reason sunglasses are forever snapping, getting scratched or just plain old lost. Which is why I advise you ladies not to splash out on an expensive pair for the beach!
For a fuller face opt for an angular shaped lense, this will balance out your features and make your face appear slimmer. Dorothy Perkins have a great range in stock at the moment. Check out this fab vintage pair!
Lastly, the sexiest way to feel more confident on the beach is to make the most of your cleavage. This can be done on a scale of subtleness. If you already feel happy about revealing your best assets then do so! If you’re a little more reserved don’t panic! The number one trick to draw attention to your lady lumps, without them falling out all over the place, is to wear a long necklace.
The length of the necklace will draw the eye downwards, positively emphasising your bust. Wear a necklace over your kaftan or straight over your swimsuit.
This works best when you opt for a summery design that matches the rest of your outfit. Ethnic designs are really popular this summer. Check out the range at Pia Jewellery. This Tiger Eye design is perfect to create this look!
