About 100% People
Are you perfect? No..? Because nobody's perfect. 100% People was created to cater for the needs of real individuals. If you are one of the over 50% (around 32 million) in the UK or over 60% in the USA who are larger than average in one or more areas, then this site was created for you.
We are not trying to say that it is alright to be unhealthy, unfit or out of shape. We do however want to help and support people and provide a platform from which they can meet like minded individuals, form friendships and get information and advice. We feel that once people can start to accept the way they are today, they can begin to make a change, feel good about themselves and starting recognising their individual worth.
Society does not always cater for the needs of those who are classed outside the 'norm'- whatever that is! For example you don’t have to be just a large frame but if you are seven feet tall you might have a rough ride when traveling with limited legroom and if you have large feet it can be hard to find shoes to fit. For all of these people and more, we provide support, advice and information, which is why we are called 100% People!
If you pick up most mainstream fashion magazines in any newsagents and flick through the pages, you will see reams of scantily clad skinny models. This is STILL the case, even with hoards of press about obesity, anorexia and the size zero debate. Despite the fact that the whole media are well aware that society is getting bigger, it all seems like hot air, when the models used in magazines are not getting any bigger.
In providing information on how to make life easier we intend to help everyone feel great about themselves, no matter what shape or size they are.
We achieve this through our shopping zone, so our customers will have easy access to clothes that will actually fit. Also through our Community and Discussion Forum, where members can find support advice and friendship with like minded people who know first hand what they are going through. Thirdly through our Blog, articles written for Help & Advice plus Health & Beauty offer a wide selection of information. Plus we also have Daisy, our large and fabulous resident writer, who researches companies and exposes them for their 100% people friendliness or prejudices, in a frank and honest manner.
It seems that even though the whole world is well aware of the ever changing shapes and sizes of society across the globe, nothing is being done to combat it; that is where 100% People come in.
